Pelikan Limited Edition Raden M1000 Stardust “Hoshikuzu” is a remarkable fusion of two exceptional traditions: German expertise in fine writing instruments, backed by more than 185 years of craftsmanship, and the refined decorative arts of Japan, rooted in centuries-old techniques. This limited edition is a poetic interpretation of stardust scattered across the night sky.
The design is brought to life by renowned artist Yamazaki Mushu and his collective “Hoshu-kai”, a respected group of Kaga maki-e masters based in Yamanaka Onsen, Kaga City.
Crafted using the ancient Raden technique, the pen features a deep black base of Japanese Urushi lacquer, evoking the vastness of the cosmos. Finely processed abalone shell fragments are meticulously arranged into elegant vertical stripes using the traditional Funzutsu tool. As light interacts with the surface, shimmering reflections of violet, blue, green, and silver emerge, reminiscent of distant stars.
The delicate Raden inlays are sealed beneath layers of transparent lacquer, carefully polished to achieve a smooth, glass-like finish.
